More Thanksgiving fun!

When your around Dickson's you better be prepared for a lecturing or two. Even Grandma gets it from her grown sons, don't worry, she throws it right back at ya. :)
Dickson women can be far less intrusive, they chat about wedding mishaps and pie crust. Easier listening, thats for sure. ;)
I think the luckiest person there was Jaron. He didn't have to listen to any lectures and people provide him with all his favorite things. Lucky.
Yay for cousins! Annika was the PERFECT babysitter for my little man. It helped that he followed her around like a little puppy. Oddly enough, she spent half her time trying to play with our puppy, Utah.
This ones a little fuzzy but the perfect picture of the over all feeling of the house while we waited for food. Relaxed.
Isn't Camry the cutest little freckle nosed girl ever! I almost made her cry when I started laughing at Zach's joke of her looking like Dana Carvey... I apologized and gave her a big hug. The conversation went like this:
Mandie: "I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings laughing at you." (I'm not very good with kids)
Camry: (puppy eyes and then a big smile.) "I"m 4".
I guess things turn out ok sometimes. :)
Sam and Grandma doin' some researchy stuff.
Look a 13 year old smiling! Believe me, this was not an easy picture to get!
The line up: Chantile (I don't know if I'm ever spelling that right), Reuben with the ever attached McKenna, Jason, and Allison. Can you believe there's only one Dickson in that picture?
Hi Grandma! I hope you enjoyed your surprise Thanksgiving!
Rich and his littlest, i'm pretty sure she was sad because she couldn't find Reuben (hehe).
Look 15 year olds. What more is there to say?
Eventually they found something to do. It was a fun Thanksgiving everyone. Thanks for comin' down.

Thanksgiving Feast! Day 2

It was a busy and happy Thanksgiving day. Mom woke up early and got the bird in, so no picture. But here she is slaving away at funeral potatoes.
And my dad on Grandma's side getting the Ham together. Note: In this picture we see a ham drenched in brown sugar and being sprayed with Dr.Pepper, don't fret it was diet.
And while the host and hostess were slaving away the guests sat down to look at all the Black Friday sales event ads. Which, honestly, can be just as daunting as cooking for 30 people.
When the food was on it's last stretch in the oven everyone pitched in to move all the furniture out of the front room, turning the space into a very crowded lunch room....
Yes, despite my trying really hard there is a few people missing from this picture.
To get ready for dessert the kids sat around and played some card games. The adults, well, they talked.
The Finale' was a dessert buffet with all the traditional pies and a few crazy ones! It was a lot of fun having everyone over. Food always tastes better when accompanied by good conversation, laughter, and family!
Stay tuned for more pictures tomorrow!

Oh No!

You may or may not have noticed when you saw Grandma Dickson last how poorly she was getting around. She's been favoring her right foot for some time now and finally, after some grumbling, got it looked at.
Diagnosis? She has a broken bone in her foot and has to be in a brace until it's better.
She's staying at Euroka's house so she isn't tempted to take the brace off to drive her much loved vehicle to her also much loved jobs and responsibilities. I'm sure she would love to hear from everyone while sitting around, maybe even a few get well cards are in order. You can decide for yourselves how you would like to send your love.
Send her lots of good vibes and remember her in your prayers and hopefully we can have her back on the road in no time *eek* :)

Congratulations to Amber and Adam! Their reception here in Idaho Falls was beautiful. It was so fun to see so much family. You should all come to my house again! Grandma is going home tomorrow. I will miss her. There were still so many things to do. We did have a nice visit with Aunt Janet, Boyd, William and Angela this afternoon. We were also able to go shopping at the distribution center and out to lunch. Kid free, even.

When everyone is here for Ambers wedding reception I am hoping to get some help figuring this out. Until then, my question is, Can all of the authors invite people to become authors? If so, please invite any family that you have an email address for. Thanks.

Randall Nielsen

The picture of the baby in the dress was given to my mother by her in-laws. She was told it was a picture of my dad, Randall Nielsen. I think the picture was intended to preserve the dress, not just the baby. Dad was born in 1899, and his grandfather, Peter Lars Nielsen, did not die until 1919 and lived in Monroe with Dad's parents Nephi and Zelaine Nielsen. He was a tailor by trade, and had been converted to the gospel as he listened to the Mormon missionaries preach on the street outside his little tailor shop in Denmark. I suspect that christening gown was his handiwork. It might have been Zelaine's or her mom, Ellen Amelia Lisenbee, as they were very good with the needle too, and it was Ellen's skill with the needle which kept her family from starving after she was widowed. Fine needlework was the framework of this Nielsen/Lisenbee family.
